This spicy ginger chutney is no doubt popular and served for breakfast to accompany with dosa, idli and also goes well with hot steamed rice.

Tamarind paste | 1 tea spoon |
Sugar | A pinch |
Red chilli powder | 1 tea spoon |
Fenugreek seeds | 1/4 table spoon |
Chana dal | 1/2 cup |
Mustard seeds | 1/4 table spoon |
Corriander seeds | 1/2 table spoon |
Turmeric | A pinch |
Salt | Add to taste |
Method:
Heat the oil in a pan. Add corriander seeds, fenugreek seeds, mustard seeds, chana dal, fresh ginger, tamarind paste, sugar, salt, red chilli powder and turmeric. Mix everything for two minutes and let the mixture cool down. Grind the mixture to smooth paste. Serve this chutney with hot rice or idly or dosa.
